We are ‪eco‬-conscious!

Why Green?

These days, we are asked to be more friendly to our planet and ourselves—whether it is to recycle, reduce  our water usage, or use environmentally friendly products.   David’s Dry Cleaners is Savannah’s only “GREEN” dry cleaners.   We have taken steps to be eco-conscious in cleaning your clothes and the products we use, including all that plastic packaging!

NO PERC

David’s has never used perchloroethylene (perc), which is not only bad for the environment but is also a possible hazard to your health.  We use hydrocarbon based solvent called EcoSolv®, which is 100% biodegradable and is essentially odorless.

STATE OF THE ART MACHINERY

David’s dry cleaning machine is a closed loop process, meaning no chemicals or vapors are emitted to the environment.  The dry cleaning machine also reclaims solvent in order to use less, causing less of an impact on the environment.

EPA-APPROVED GREEN LAUNDRY SYSTEM

David’s uses Faultess by Nature™ laundry system that adheres to stringent EPA guidelines.  It is a new botanical-based liquid laundry system that optimally cleans your clothes without being harmful to you or the environment.

HOT WATER CONSERVATION

We heat our water using a steam heat exchanger that eliminates the need for water heaters, cutting down on utilities.

RECYCLABLE PACKAGING

David’s uses Maruso® hangers that are made of reclaimed plastic and can be recycled at your closest David’s Dry Cleaners location or through your local recycling program.

We use ECO-GREEN™ plastic film to package your dry cleaning orders.  It protects your clothes just like any other bag, but it is 100% biodegradable, compostable, and recyclable.

We also use a heat sealer to fit this plastic film that protects your clothes to the individual garment, thus reducing the amount of product used.

IN-HOUSE RECYCLING

David’s is a devout recycler of cardboard boxes, plastic containers,  and aluminum cans in order to eliminate as much waste as possible
